About
Madelynn Scheinberg is a professional curator and stylist in California who mixes old and new items for both homes and businesses.
She is the founder of HAKO Studio, an online marketplace that allows her to showcase thoughtfully sourced and handmade items to the public.
She focuses on sourcing special pieces for various design projects that speak to the values and aesthetic goals of each client. Using artistic visual literacy, historic knowledge, and valuable procurement connections, Madelynn is able to bring your ideas to life with any project.
As a graduate from UCSB’s History of Art and Architecture program, she is able to apply in-depth knowledge of art and architecture from almost every style, time period, and region. This facilitates the overall design for each project, providing clients with well-researched, special, and meaningful items for their unique design goals.
Her specialties are in Japanese art and architecture, including textiles, ceramics, and woodwork, as well as Californian design history. Her style often incorporates a blend of these two specialties and how Californian design is rooted in Japanese influence.
